Time Bank
UDACITY + The design of everyday things
Task: Create a user interface for a wallet-size time bank
This project consist of designing a user experience for a mobile time bank device that fits in your wallet. A time-bank allows people to exchange their time for another person time. To keep things simple, everyone's time has equal value: my hours is worth the same amount as your hours.
Debrief includes the following information
- Conceptual models
- Discoverability , before user testing: a multiple screen sequence (flow) that show (with image, text and callout bubbles) how you handle discoverability and the gulf of execution.
- Discoverability , after user testing
- Feedback after user testing
- The refine of the design
Sketches of conceptual models
In this step is explore how the time-bank might behave and look. More specifically:
- Sketch of ideas for how the time-bank might use signifiers to support an accurate conceptual models for adding and subtracting time.
- Sketch of ideas for how the time-bank might support independent aspects of discoverability
- Sketch of ideas for how the time-bank might provide independent instances of feedback
Discoverability: Before user test
The first interaction of the user flow. The user discover that they can search for and commit to trade their hours for a particular person's expertise.
Sketch #1
Flow of the sketch
Discoverability , after user testing
A composite of all the user feedback. Highlight the points of confusion where crossing the "gulf of execution" wasn't clear for the testers.
Feedback after user testing
The nexts images show the feedback that the user give us. The interaction after the user feedback. Overall, the signifires were made more clear and consistent.
